Lord, a new week begins again. Lately, I have been reading many news stories and articles that are not very positive. Somehow, they have made my heart feel heavy and my spirit become a little dark. Lord, I cannot understand Your ways or everything You are doing. But I ask You for one thing: if it is Your will to take away these evils, please do so in the way that is most pleasing to You. So many families and loved ones are being hurt and are living through pain because of these things. Lord, please have mercy on them and bring Your peace into their lives. Mary, tomorrow is your birthday. Please intercede for us and ask your Son to protect us and keep us in peace. Just as Jesus left His peace with His disciples before returning to the Father, may that same peace remain in our hearts and in our families. I also entrust this new week into Your hands, Lord. Please guide me, protect me, and give me the strength to walk through everything that lies ahead. Help me to trust You even when I do not understand, and to remember that You are always beside me. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
