With Jesus in the morning
Get up to the new day dawning. Who would you like to thank in your life? Use this new day as a beginning to listen to the Lord: “Remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother’s eye”. (Lk 6:39-42). How do you look at the people you have next to you throughout your day? Do you integrate the other, the stranger, and the different one who doesn’t think like you? Ask the Lord for his loving gaze, to see the other as He sees him. Offer your day up to the Lord and pray for the abolition of the death penalty. Our Father…

With Jesus during the day
Pause this afternoon. Rest and listen to what Pope Francis says: “Let us ask, honestly, in this synodal journey: Do we allow people to express themselves, to walk in the faith even when they have difficult paths in life? To contribute to the life of the community without being hindered, without being rejected or judged?” What feelings does this raise in you? Is there anyone in your day who needs your openness and understanding? Follow Jesus on the path of acceptance and contribute to respecting the lives of those who are condemned to death.

With Jesus in the night
Calm your mind and your heart. Thank God for all that you have lived today and for the people you encountered. Think of someone in particular recognizing how good they truly are. How do you tend to act when in front of others? Do you judge, criticize or value them? If you don’t want to be judged by others, you’ll have to limit your own judgments. You are called to defend the life of your brother or sister as God defends yours. Ask for this grace from the Spirit, your advocate before the Father, and write a change you can make for tomorrow.
