With Jesus in the morning
WYD is approaching and I am grateful for the presence of God, who counts on me and calls me. “But who do you say that I am?” (Lk 9: 20). I don’t always know who Jesus is for me. I will live this day keeping this question alive in my heart, trying to make every moment a moment in which I respond, with gestures, to this question. I offer, through the intercession of Mary, who hastily left to meet her cousin, the works of this day for the intentions of the Holy Father. Hail Mary…

With Jesus during the day
Pause before continuing the activities of your day to rest with Jesus. Contemplate the love that led him to suffer the death with which he was sentenced, despite being innocent. This month we pray for the abolition of the death penalty because “life, especially human life, belongs only to God. Not even the murderer loses his personal dignity and God himself becomes his guarantor…since he wants the repentance of the sinner and not his death” (Pope Francis). What action will you make to value the lives of those around you and to not condemn?

With Jesus in the night
On this afternoon take a moment to enter into yourself and give thanks for the graces of this day. Look in the light of the Spirit at the people who you crossed paths with today. Is there anyone you find particularly difficult and unpleasant? Do you try to justify it by trying to see the good side of criticizing them, and do you keep a strict account of his or her faults and sins? Or do you pray for him or her? Ask for forgiveness if you did not have the merciful eyes of the Father today. Begin your morning again by praying “Father, help me to forgive as you forgive me”. Hail Mary…
